One whole week without a post! You guys must really miss us right? All two and a half of you? Counting Jennie and myself...
I still subscribe to magazines for teenage girls (Teen Vogue) and the latest issues was all about prom. Oh, prom. And yes 50 years or so ago, of course Jennie and I went to prom together. Wait, we actually did have dates. But we somehow managed to work it out so that our dates were friends so we could all go together. Not sure how we pulled that off.
Our senior prom started with a car wreck and did NOT end with sex like I'm sure most others played out. Jennie and I were out buying last minute provisions (nail polish) and I rammed into the back of a Bronco an hour before our dates were supposed to arrive.
After Jennie's dress debacle (which is a whole other story) this was not a good start to the night. But we made it safely home (the 2nd time around), threw on our dresses, did something with our hair, Jennie let my Mom paint her toenails (not a good idea since she also painted the tops of her toes) and made it out the door in time to get a quick dinner before the dance.
Luckily the rest of the night was uneventful. My most memorable moment of the dance was not even spent on the dance floor but instead, the bathroom. Jennie went into a stall and pretended to throw up while I made up stores about how she was drunk to other people coming in and out. For the record, she had not been drinking. We were just really that dumb. And because of that, it was an awesome night.
I can't find any other pictures from Senior Prom but these are from Junior Prom. Jennie and I actually ended up hanging out that night too even though I doubt she even remembers because we didn't even like each other then.
And this is Ging who ended up being my date to Senior Prom.
